Abstract
The text presents elements of the ethnographic study on the fishing communities along the Lower Danube and dwells on the value of local knowledge of fishing skills, knowledge of cultural landscapes, cultural practices and ways of achieving them. The study of fishing communities is seen as a process of interpreting the value of every day way of life, where the sought and found forms of cultural heritage are the result of the process of their invention. The possibility of the research position being part of active actions to affirm the forms of cultural heritage for the benefit of the local fishing communities is being pursued.
